About Rhodius

Around sixty-five years ago, Manfred Rhodius set off in the VW bus that he’d converted into a mobile workshop to try out his newly-developed cutting discs in local factories and plants. He brought with him the first innovative cutting and grinding discs made by RHODIUS.

The experience and knowledge gained from practice was quickly transferred into the development of new RHODIUS abrasive tools. For example, as early as the end of the 1950s, production was switched from paper as a backing material to glass fibre fabric – as is still the case today with resin-bonded cutting and grinding discs.

The challenge

  • Identify market gaps in African countries
  • Develop strategies to fill these market gaps
  • Acquire major import partners in Africa
  • Support existing African import partners
  • Implement local marketing efforts on behalf of import partners
  • Increase brand awareness of Rhodius Abrasives in Africa

Results

Rhodius was able to acquire new African Import partners in countries where it had never sold before and hence increase their sales and revenues.

Additionally, Rhodius was able to maintain their current import partners through giving them the extra support they needed to succeed globally.

Geofrey worked with us for a short period and came up with recommendations of how Rhodius can increase its market share in Africa to become market leader. It was a real pleasure to work with Geofrey and we look forward to work with him again in future.
