As an intern in our sales team, you will gain hands-on experience using modern sales tech stacks, working directly with lead generation, proposals, client onboarding, and more.

Role Overview

As a Digital Sales Intern, you will support the sales team in generating, qualifying, and converting leads into clients. You will help build and maintain a database of potential clients, use online tools to research leads, engage prospects via multiple channels, prepare proposals, meet or onboard clients, and help drive revenue growth. This is a learning role with real responsibility and mentorship, so you will get practical exposure to the B2B sales process end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

Lead generation & research• Use sales software (e.g. Apollo.io) to build and manage lead lists and databases of potential clients.• Research leads using online tools: LinkedIn, job/tender boards, Google My Business profiles, competitor websites, etc.• Identify new leads via public tenders or RFP / job/procurement boards relevant to target industries.
Prospecting & outreach• Use sales software (e.g. Apollo.io) to build and manage lead lists and databases of potential clients.• Research leads using online tools: LinkedIn, job / tender boards, Google My Business profiles, competitor websites, etc.• Identify new leads via public tenders or RFP / job/procurement boards relevant to target industries.
Proposal & client engagement• Conduct cold calls to prospects and schedule meetings with decision makers.• Send cold emails and follow-up sequences as part of email marketing efforts.• Use LinkedIn / social channels to engage prospects (social selling).
Sales process & CRM• Draft proposals/sales decks/quotes for prospects.• Support in preparing sales presentations.• Participate in meetings with prospects or clients.• Help with onboarding new clients, collecting required information, and guiding them through contract or service setup.
Strategy and improvement• Provide market insights, competitor analysis, and industry/sector research.• Suggest improvements to outreach strategies, proposal templates, and sales scripts.• Work with marketing & sales to refine messaging/target segments.
Collaboration & learning• Maintain accurate records in CRM or sales software; update contact info, notes, interactions, status.• Track pipeline progress, tasks, follow ups, scheduled demos or meetings.• Assist in forecasting/reporting on leads / pipeline.

Requirements / Qualifications

Essential qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in (or recent graduate of) a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Basic proficiency in using online tools ( Google Sheets, other sales / CRM tools).
  • Comfortable making cold calls, sending emails, prospecting, and interacting with clients.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and follow instructions while also showing initiative.

Preferred / desirable qualifications:

  • Some prior experience or interest in sales / digital marketing, or lead generation internships.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn, business directories, tender boards, and procurement portals.
  • Some experience using proposal or presentation tools (PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc.).
  • Familiarity with sales automation/integration tools (e.g, Pabbly Connect, Apollo.io, or similar).
  • Good research/data gathering skills.

Work Details

  • Location: Yobrand Group Office, Kigali
  • Schedule: Full-Time (Monday–Friday)
  • Stipend: TBD
